A Moment of Magic Misericordia is dedicated to harnessing the power of play to spark joy, foster connection, reduce isolation, and support the mental health and emotional healing for medically vulnerable children and their families.

We have proudly served the greater northeastern PA community since 2022 by engaging students at Misericordia University. Together, we bring moments of magic, hope, and healing to children when they need it most.

We are so excited to share that Your Magic, a children’s book written by @momentofmagicfoundation’s Founder & Executive Director @kyleelauren and the AMoM Community is coming in 2023!

Each of us has something that makes us, us. It’s our magic -- our individuality and uniqueness. It’s as much a part of who we are as our eye color or heart beat. Our magic deserves to be shared and celebrated. Your Magic is a children’s book that does just that.

Your Magic celebrates the things that make us who we are and what unites us all. It illustrates a world that our community has created over the last five years and introduces over 30 unique and inclusive characters that were co-created with our amazing volunteers and the children we serve. It creates a space where every child can see themselves represented as the hero of the story.

Through this story we are highlighting the imaginations that have been the driving force of our mission, showing the world that everyone can be a superhero, all you need is to harness the power of being yourself.

We put together lots of bravery bags filled with goodies to deliver to Janet Weis Children’s Hospital on behalf of our new chapter here at Misericordia. Magic Makers
Character Program

Our flagship program brings beloved characters to children as part of trauma-informed, play-based healing. Magic Makers—trained in child development, emotional regulation, and dignity-centered care—collaborate with hospital teams and caregivers to reduce anxiety, foster joy, and support each child's circle of care.

Express, Create, Heal
Targeted Intervention Program

Express, Create, Heal is a peer-led, trauma-informed program for children affected by cancer, developed with mental health professionals to address grief, anxiety, identity, and more. Through storytelling and creative expression, children ages 3 to 18 engage in guided activities that foster belonging and emotional resilience during a time of profound upheaval.

AMoM Unlimited
Virtual Programming

AMoM Unlimited is a free, on-demand digital library designed for medically vulnerable children who can’t receive in-person visits. With storytimes, themed activities, and uplifting videos led by trained volunteers, the program delivers play-based healing anywhere—removing barriers and ensuring every child can access the magic.
